Hey guys! Melbourne, Australia, rings a bell? Yes, this is another article about a local designer. This time Tamara Watts and her amazing Electra Lamp. Tamara’s background in visual merchandising and interior decoration, her inspiration is mid-century design. It helps her creating unique lamps!

Although she has a lot of vintage pieces, Tamara knows that she needs to develop ‘new’ pieces. She started a new line of timber lamp base.

The Electra lamp base is her first ceramic/wood combination and has been a year in the making.

‘The Electra Lamp is influenced by mid-century design’ says Tamara.  ‘I’ve watched a lot of Mad Men (!) and I have a huge appreciation for interiors of this era’ she explains! ‘The three glaze colours were easy to choose: a classic, glazed turquoise, a simple white, and of course, GOLD!’. Rocket Lamp, Disc Lamp bases and now the new Electra table lamp are the best-sellers and all are hand-crafted in Tasmania Blackwood.
