Veronese, the French Murano glass contemporary lighting design company renowned for its luxury designs, attended ICFF in New York. Veronese presented at ICFF the new designs of four prominent architects/designers – Patrick Naggar, Dan Yeffet, Tristan Auer and Reda Amalou – along with a unique selection of contemporary lighting from the company’s rich portfolio than spans over 8 decades.
The HIGHLIGHT collection marks the first collaboration between Veronese and designer Dan Yeffet. HIGHLIGHT is a collection of contemporary floor and table lamps that gracefully combine Murano glass and marble. These contemporary lighting designs with its three different heights (45 cm, 70 cm and 111 cm) the collection shows striking dimensions. These lighting designs, including the one towering at 111 cm in height, are made of one single piece of blown Murano glass.
Available in grey, tobacco and crystal.
ICE, by Reda AMALOU
ICE originates from the fascination with designing an iconic piece of Murano glass that can metamorphose into diverse compositions, allowing for a perpetual creative process. With this objective in mind, the designer created a textured rectangular sheet of hand-laid Murano glass (9 cm x 20 cm) with a geometric, hand-pressed, pattern that catches the light and gently diffuses it.
The ICE sheets are designed to gently dangle from its frame, whatever it may be. To inaugurate this novel creative journey, Veronese will first present at ICFF 2016 New York two wall lamps and a suspension designed by Reda. Additional designs will be added to the ICE collection throughout the year, including a table lamp.
YSA, by Tristan AUER
YSA is a new Murano glass wall lamp (60 cm H, 40 cm W, 15 cm D) characterized by three overlapping sheets of Murano glass, each of which shows an interplay of complimentary, yet diverse, Murano glass techniques, textures and colors. The top smaller layer is of streaked, frosted crystal Murano glass. The second layer is smoked Murano glass with a stripe motif applied under heat. The third layer is Murano glass with an application of mirror. Like a well-tailored hem, a soft crystal border frames each layer.
The simple shape of the design masks its intricate game of contrasts and the master skills of the Murano artisans.
CELL by Patrick NAGGAR
CELL was inspired by the designer’s most recent collection for Veronese, The Chromosome Collection, which was produced in limited series and launched at Art Basel 2015. Enthralled with the Chromosomes elegant curves encasing innovative lighting designs system, the designer dug deeper and designed a complimentary new collection composed of a suspension and a sconce. The new design is an abstract interpretation of its predecessor with an emphasis on its iconic curves. The encased light source, while different from the Chromosome, is once again innovative in it’s own way. The CELL deviates from the Chromosome’s use of fiber optics to create a light source conducted through an inner Murano glass tube with gold leaf, generating a rare lighting experience.
