Laura Seppänen Design Agency was tasked to design the new, two-room residence of Stina Mäntyniemi, the head of Cosmopolitan Finland. The designer ended up creating a beautiful Scandinavian-inspired monochromatic apartment with a few contemporary lighting details that take it to the next level.
The Helsinki-based interior designer and stylist created an all-white space that was at the same time, cozy and comfortable. Filled with clear nordic design vibes, this minimalist apartment looks like it could be featured in any issue of any interior design magazine and be a total hit. However, it still maintains a very livable and practical ambience.
Strong raw-white walls, floors, and ceilings set the tone of the apartment. This helps achieve a timeless look that will always look fresh and modern. Layered in are elements of black, the occasional gray, and a few green plants. Mäntyniemi didn’t want any rugs or curtains, but other textures were incorporated to help soften the decor a bit.
The simple black and white suspension lamp helps to achieve the monochromatic look.
An oversized industrial style wall lamp was definitely the right choice for this minimalist open living room.
In the kitchen area, the cabinets and appliances are kept in the most neutral colors possible, with a few wooden and green elements setting a more cheerful vibe. A marble countertop was added for a more dramatic effect.
The bedroom design follows the same rules as the rest of the apartment, where the Scandinavian atmosphere is buried in deep, creating a trendy and stunning look. Extra points for the black and white suspension lamp with a few golden details!
