FOR YOUR INTEREST IN CONTEMPORARY LIGHTING
Just like French women always seem to have their outfit on point «, walking down cobblestoned streets looking effortless, Parisian décor has a certain je ne sais quoi factor. All Parisian ambiances have elegance, sophistication and it’s impossible to replicate it only with a set of bergère chairs or vintage furniture finds at the flea market. The question is: how do the French manage to put together an environment that exude elegance and flair? The prolific interior design company, Roy, created a one-of-a-kind Parisian chic project: a Champagne and Oyster Bar, located in New York City, that will make us want to toast before New Year’s Eve! Check out how the team of committed design experts managed to create a très chic hospitality project!

“Growing up and working in the restaurant business has given them a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry. (…) We believe gathering and sharing a meal is a fundamental part of being human and a catalyst for positive change in how we live and thrive in our communities.”

No wonder why in Russian, for example, they use the same word for stomach and love. Having a meal together is much more than fulfilling our physiological needs. With her background, Hannah had the sensibility to take this design challenge and create a unique Parisian ambiance that will make everyone travel in time and space!

“We really wanted to pay homage to the classic Parisian bistro while also creating a space that felt elevated, fresh and exciting. We focused on grounding the design with historic architectural references like the curved wall, arched doorways and stately moulding details, while introducing modern feminine shapes and nuances.”

One of the most important features of any design project is the selection of lighting. The right balance between natural and artificial light can emphasize volumes and shapes, adding depth and contrast to the room. For this specific project, the team of design experts decided to take a risk with lighting. The area exudes quirky charm, Art-deco-style lighting and ornate details.

A Parisian-inspired project has to resemble a black Chanel dress. It only needs a little accessorizing, and it can be worn day and night across decades! A timeless yet sophisticated décor that will always look amazing because of a very simple formula: French design is built around a few classics, and the rest evolves with their personality. Mid-century modern furniture has the clean lines and curved shapes ideal for this style. The designer was not afraid to mix and match different styles or times periods. It’s all about bringing a wide range of textures, colors and materials that at the end of the day, will go together whether they were made in the same century or not.

“And of course, setting the tone for the entire space, is the quintessential Riddler art piece: Jacqueline Bisset sipping champagne in her undies. The whole space is a delicate jewel box of wow moments.”
