A part of the Design Hotels, Hotel Vila Monte was completely transformed by interior stylist Vera Iachia to come to be one of the most stunning and relaxing modern paradises you could ever imagine. This now modern Algarve resort features a soothing and inviting bohemian chic vibe which is perfect for the Summer holidays, even more so if you love great lighting designs!
“With a total renovation on the inside and partial renovation on the outside, the Hotel Vila Monte’s design brief was to transform Vila Monte into a farmhouse hotel with timeless simplicity with unique areas for different experiences by clients”. This is how interior designer and stylist Vera Iachia puts into her words what happened to Hotel Vila Monte after its stunning refurbishment.
The designer reminds us that the aim when coming into this project was to create a self-sufficient hotel through farming, where its guests could also participate in the food process. Ever more common, this type of self-sufficient and sustainable architecture and interior design projects are great examples on how to conduct the business.
One of the great things we immediately loved about this hospitality project was how lighting design was given such an important role to play on how the interiors worked out. Above, you can see how the bold colored suspension lamps create a focal point in the room and bring together all the elements.
Across all the rooms, we can see that natural light is definitely a gift and only a few minimalist lamps are put here or there to create an ambiance.
A lot of blues and coastal colors were chosen to be featured throughout the hotel, creating a connection with its surrounding environment and, at the same time, allowing for a more soothing and relaxing look.
The outside is completely dedicated to nature, in order to emphasize the self-sufficiency the hotel is so proud of, and to make its guests feel more connected to the bohemian vibe that was created both outdoors and indoors.
