MKCA is an architecture firm providing innovative and terrifically crafted work for clients seeking thoughtful and well-considered design. MKCA – New York architecture firm, has transformed an apartment in the West Village from darkness intolight-filled spaces. It is a two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment, located at the Bank Street, that has been redesigned by professionals.
The residence for a professional couple was rebuilt by local firm Michael K Chen Architecture. The couple already had a significant quantity of artworks and decorative pieces. MCKA was supervising the interior design as well, while providing all of the furniture.
Wet bar, work space and an entertaining area with a pull-out television – is an outcome of that amazing transformation. The Cabinetry allows the couple to hide their belongings and creates an impression of a large space.
The kitchen opens into a living room and dining place. Natural light, created by professionals, gives an inspiration for the new food preparation spirit. Wide windows open up the space of an apartment, whilst showing decorative pieces and displaying art.
The large sliding pocket creates a private home office when it is closed. The changed were also applied to a smaller guest room and dining area. Custom-made banquette was designed by an architecture studio and manufactured by New York designer Martin Albert.
The bedroom has been redesigned to an ensuite one. The placement of door has also changed and improved routes around an apartment. The walls are painted in white with marble accents and light counter-tops. And the new recessed lighting and rolling shades updated the space.
