FOR YOUR INTEREST IN CONTEMPORARY LIGHTING
Gilles And Boissier have had their inception in 2004, and since then, Dorothée Boissier & Patrick Gilles have managed to become quite the reference in architecture, interior design, and graphic design. Each of their projects or collections recounts a unique narrative that normally benefits from eclectic and contemporary design elements. In today’s article, Paris Design Agenda explores a bit of the innovative design world of Gilles And Boissier that is all about showcasing the authenticity of the art of living à la Française.
The Parisian design studio, Gilles & Boissier were responsible for the boutique interiors that showcase the best of the luxury ski and après-ski label, Moncler. Dark wood walls and floors create a sophisticated backdrop for the brand’s practical yet fashion-focussed clothing and accessories. Marble elements and furry throws and furniture amp up the luxury factor, while styled mannequins punctuate the space, showcasing how to wear the brand’s pieces from top to toe.
The two interior architects were tasked with designing the common areas, spa and 115 rooms of the first hotel opened by Baccarat, the prestigious newcomer to the luxury accommodations sector. For the first Baccarat Hotel, Dorothée Boissier and Patrick Gilles decided to emphasize 18th-century design influences, all while bringing out the energy of New York.

Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier met in Christian Liaigre’s studios. Boissier, passionate about theatrical and Opera decorations, graduated from the ESAG Penninghen graphic arts school in Paris, and later on, went on to work for Philippe Starck’s studio whereas Gilles studied at the École Camondo in Paris and later become more independent by creating his own studio PG Studio.
The Gilles et Boissier style is a mix of minimalism, elegance, and eclecticism. In fact, it is a mix of mixtures while keeping certain sobriety.
All in all, the studio’s main purpose is to authentically showcase the art of living à la Française and they do see by engaging in a creative collaboration together as one. Each and every creation highlights a unique elegance that is translated by delicate and eclectic interior design.
From residential projects to yacht interiors as well as working on the interior design of some of the world’s leading hospitality designs and restaurants, Gilles & Bossier have done a bit of everything, but their talent and skill never cease to amaze. Below, you can take a look at numerous interior design projects conceived by the dynamic duo.
Joyfully engaged in a constant, creative disagreement, they find inspiration: more, it’s precisely this ceaseless game of verbal and mental ping-pong that gives form to their ideas.
Partners in life and in design, each one has a specific role and style, but together they form a unified whole. If strict lines and a distinctive taste for fine woods can be attributed to Patrick Gilles, Dorothée, on her end, has a way with spatial fluidity, colors and intuitive elegance.
t is this distinctive approach that has paved their road to success, with commissions all over the world. Since 2004, they have designed a variety of projects from residential to hospitality projects, luxury boutiques, and lifestyle restaurants. Yet, it is the constant refinement of their clients that has pushed them into designing wild Moncler stores for Remo Ruffini, along with site his latest residence on Lake Como, Italy.
